Q: cats eyes

I have a cat 7 mos. old that has developed what looks like cataracts in his eyes. Can you tell me what caused this and if he can be helped.

It's unusual for such a young cat to develop cataracts. Are you sure that's what you're seeing? Is it possible that you're seeing his third eyelid or 'haw' (a cloudy-ish membrane) coming across his eye from the inside corner? When a cat's third eyelid is showing, it indicates illness or that something is wrong, healthwise. In any case, your cat needs to see a vet right away to assess what's going on with his eyes and if he has any other health problems. Please take him to the vet immediately.

Good luck and please keep us posted!

Hi Jack,

I noticed that you tried to post here twice with a reply, but it didn't come through. I did see your post on the Thank You page, though, and you're very welcome! I'd still like to know how Tubby is doing, so if you try a 'new' post here, instead of a reply, it should come through with no problem.
