Q: to Johnny Qs BirdsNStuff & Chestnut

ok you guys are not listening... i have called every rehabilitator in my area none of them will take sparrows that is why i posted this question. and no Johnny Qs BirdsNStuff was not good advice it did not answer any of my questions, and i spent 2 hours trying to find then nest and there are tons of cats in my neighborhood and so they could not have remained on the ground. so if you would answer my questions instead of preaching to me i would appreciate it because i did put a lot of effort into trying to do everything right. so i will once again ask the questions i need answered.
*I was wondering what can i do to keep them alive
*will they be able to be released or will they be to
imprinted on me.
*oh and they get fed about every half an hour or when ever
they start to really chirp and their last feeding last night
was 10:30 and they got fed again at 5:00 this morning will
this be ok?

The advice you recieve earlier today was good sound advice and what is best for the birds.
If you would please advise us of your approximate location and the species of sparrow you are talking about we might be able to assist you in locating a Wildlife Rehabilitator that can be of assistance to you.

Sorry I have had absolutely no experience raising wild birds, so I can't really offer much help there. Even if the wildlife rehabs around you will not take sparrows, they will liley have plenty of experience raising wild chicks and would be much more qualified to answer your questions on how to keep the babies alive. The fact that they lived through the night is a good thing, but do contact the wild bird rehab again for advice on how you oculd best care for these chicks.

> If you will give me your location I will find a rehabber for you. In some places depending on the type of bird you are dealing with you are commiting a crime by keeping them. It is a myth that birds become "imprinted" by people. If you find the nest after handeling the birds the parents will still care for them. They have to be kept warm. You need to take them to a board certified avian vet and have that vet run full screens on them, teach you how to handfeed, and instruct you on how to rehab them for release. If you have other birds and have had contact with your pets as well as the wild birds all of the birds need a board certified vet. you may have exposed your flock to lice (wild birds are usually covered with it) , mites, and a plethora of disease. You yourself may have been exposed as well.
