Q: throat hernia in puppy
My 4 wk old dauschund puppy has a throat hernia. What can be done about this? We had a puppy before that had one but we didn't know it until it was too late... he suffocated. I don't want this to happen again. Thanks

Hello jadapburdick,
My suggestion to you is to take your dog to the vet immediately. Since this has happened to a previous dog with the end result of death, make it your responsibility to prevent yet another one. Your vet can determine what treatments are best.
