Q: Not sure how to stop my rabbits from escaping

Hi, i bought 2 rescue adult, bonded rabbits 4 weeks ago, the male lop seems friendly, but the female, pins her ears back, growls, bits, scratches and runs away every time. I bought several rabbit care books and a psychology for rabbits book, but she is still very aggressive. We have built them a 7 foot by 2.5 foot double story hutch with ramp and sleeeping quarters and week have also built an 8 foot by 4 foot rabbit run. For the first couple of weeks they have ran around in the run but now they are taking it in turns to burrow under the run, how do we stop this and how to I befriend the female, I must admit that she does scare me, friends have suggested that I just return them back to the RSPCA and buy hand reared babies, what do you think, can anyone help me. I have followed all the instructions on how to befriend but it hasn't worked. Also they have stopped sleeping in their sleeping quarters and always seem to be downstairs. I am being over zealous ?
