Q: CHILEAN ROSE HAIR HOUSING
Hi every1,
I am getting mixed information on which type of substrate to use for my rose hair. for now i am using a mixture of peat moss and wood. Should i change it to something else? Any other housinf tips would be appreciated. thnx.

A: CHILEAN ROSE HAIR HOUSING
i would recommend a mix of soil and peat.
make it at least 3 to 4 inches deep. give your spider a few hiding places and a shallow water dish for it to drink from.
a few branches are nice for them too as they do climb a little.
fake plants are better than real ones, as they make it easier to clean the tank when you need too and they won't die ;)
i would never use wood chips in a tank because some woods can kill your creatures, like cedar. cedar had a chemical in it that is very hasardous to insects, and reptiles at that.

Also provide it with a reatreat like a plant pot or log etc. You can also use a mixture of peat and vermiculite which I prefer I found that I have too many mite outbreaks when I used soil.

I still find that after baking or microwaving the stuff they still come back eventually. in my opinions anyway.
