Q:Green spotted puffer HELP please !

I just have some questions about the green spotted puffer fish. I bought it at the pet store as a "dwarf puffer" and went home to reaserch it and found out that (as usual) the pet store had no idea what they were talking about. Now that I know for sure it's a green spotted puffer, I know the size it will get, temp, but the one thing I can't seem to find a solid answere about is how brackish the water should be and what type of aquarium salt I should be using. (the fresh water salt or the marine kind) also I don't know how much to put in per gallon. Also, what is the tank size if I just have one, and what other fish can go with him withought any conflicts . Could someone help me please? One more question is what does it mean when his belly (usually white) turns greayish colour and the rest of his body gets darker as well, he does this mostly when I feed him but on other ocasions as well.

Brackish water is a mixture of sea water and fresh river water. It's density can vary with tides, currents time of day and time of year. This is why there is such a wide range of values given for 'brackish' water.
I would use marine salt, at about 1.25 oz/gallon, 8grms/lt. Puffers are definitely aggresive toward other puffers. You can keep them with similar sized or larger fish (which need the same water!) in a minimum 30" aquarium.
