i'm trying to save money and was wondering if i could keep my hermit crabs in a large rubbermaid storage container?

Aquariums are actually quite cheap. You can get a 20 gallon long (which is more suitable for hermit crabs than a 20 gallon, because it has more floorspace) for about 25 dollars at petsmart, and 10 gallons cost around 9 or 10.
